Become a volunteer with Kristinedal

Kristinedal Oxbugers is one of the more popular and well-known food stalls at Roskilde Festival, due to our tasteful and delicious burgers. We have been at Roskilde Dyrskueplads since 1973, and at the festival since 2003. Each year, we aim to serve the best festival burgers - and to do that, we need your help as a volunteer!

At Kristinedal, we welcome international volunteers to give them once in a lifetime festival experience, where loyalty, motivation to work voluntarily and helping others are the keys. In return for your help and motivation, you will get a free ticket to the festival, access to volunteer areas (i.e. camping, lounge- and bar area) and much more!

However, before you apply to become a volunteer at Roskilde Festival or Copenhell 2019, there are a few things you will need to know regarding your citizenship, and if you are able to become a volunteer at Kristinedal.

As an international, there are certain things you need to know before applying as a volunteer at Kristinedal - The most important parts are your citizenship and if you have a valid work permit.

Citizens from EU/EEA

Citizens from countries within the European Union and Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Switzerland are automatically allowed to volunteer at Roskilde Festival - and in Denmark in general.

To apply for a volunteer spot at Kristinedal, please click here.

Citizens from outside of EU/EEA

If you are a citizen from a country outside of the EU/EEA, you will need a valid work permit in Denmark in order to volunteer. Due to Danish laws, it is not possible to apply for a work permit for the sole purpose of volunteering in Denmark.

If you will need a work permit, in order to volunteer at Roskilde Festival or Copenhell, we advise you to check with  The Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) first.

For more information regarding being an international volunteer at Roskilde Festival, please see here.

Citizens from the UK

At the moment, citizens from the UK are able to volunteer with Kristinedal at Roskilde Festival or Copenhell. However, due to the political situation with Brexit - this might change in the future.

International students in Denmark

Are you currently enrolled as an international student at a Danish university? Then you are allowed to volunteer, as you have a valid work permit.

However,  if you are an international student, currently studying at a lower education level (i.e. traineeship, youth education or training), you are not permitted to work in Denmark - and therefore not able to be a volunteer automatically. You will, therefore, need to apply for a work permit under the same conditions as citizens from outside of the EU/EEA - of course not if you are from the EU/EEA.

Please be aware of, that the process of getting a valid work permit is long. We again advise you to look through this process before applying.

Working Holiday Agreement

You can apply for a working holiday agreement if you are between 18-31 (36 for Canadians) and from Argentina, Australia, Canada Chile, Japan, New Zealand or South Korea. By receiving the working holiday agreement, will also make you eligible to become a volunteer. Please be aware of, that it can take some time to apply and receive the working holiday agreement - up to three months.
